    English proficiency test

Although the study programmes are taught in Dutch, most of the literature and some of the lectures are in English. Therefore all prospective students must be proficient in English and should take an English proficiency test, unless you are exempted from this requirement. Exempted are:

    * Those who have obtained their diploma in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States of America.
    * Those who have obtained their diploma in a country of the European Economic Area (EEA), or in Switzerland.

    Iar Universitatea din Leiden scrie:

    Quote:
Can I be exempted from having to submit proof of proficiency in English?

The following students do not need to submit proof of proficiency in English:
    # students who have completed their education in Canada, the USA, the UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia
    # students who have obtained an International Baccalaureate

All other students are required to submit proof of proficiency in English. If you have been educated in English, but in a country not listed above, or if you have obtained an undergraduate degree in English Language or Culture, you still need to submit proof of proficiency in English.
We do prefer the proof of proficiency in the form of an IELTS test.
